Golf Teaching Aids, Inc. was
founded in 1983. I Clyde J. Melancon, owner and president, started GTA,
Inc. just prior to my first teaching aid that was introduced at the PGA
Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida in 1984. Since then I have
developed numerous teaching aids for my company as well as for
some of the leading Golf Teaching Academies and Teachers. Several of my
products have US Patents. We manufacture all of the products, and I
personally test and inspect each one before shipment. There have been in
excess of 28,000 products sold through out the united States and the
world.
I did not have the opportunity
to play this game at an early age, and always wanted to. Starting golf
when you're middle age, like I was, can be difficult.
Only when I decided to study
the golf swing and use teaching aids to learn the mechanics, did I
begin to improve. Only with proper mechanics can you be certain that the
"Feel" is correct. I was able to break 100 then 90's. Getting into the
80's took even longer. The 70's are now common and my goal is to shoot
my age, "69", (Revised April O7) now I am 70 and did shoot my age, 70 in
January 07.
As of December 08 and
approaching age 72, the revise goal is to keep the scores in the 70s.
I do think that most golfers,
regardless of age or experience, ought to be able to improve if they
understand the mechanics and make a legitimate effort to practice
on a regular basis.
There are no short cuts,
and all the so called "Secrets" are known. The teaching and training
aids that I developed and patented, use proven methods, not opinions.
They will make it much easier to understand the mechanics so that you can
play by feel.
